  Vinicius Jr has matched a remarkable record set by Lionel Messi by scoring for Real Madrid in their UEFA Champions League final win over Borussia Dortmund on Saturday night. The match ended 2-0 for Los Blancos at Wembley Stadium. Following a scoreless first half, the Los Blancos broke the deadlock in the 74th minute when defender Dani Carvajal headed in from a superb corner delivered by Toni Kroos. Nine minutes later, Vinicius secured the win with a goal assisted by Jude Bellingham. Vinicius at 23, has now been directly involved in 22 goals in the Champions League knockout stages, tallying 11 goals and 11 assists. This achievement puts him on par with Messi, the only other player to reach this milestone before turning 24.

  Former Real Madrid manager, Jose Mourinho, has claimed that the structure of the La Liga club has seen them become the most successful team in Europe. Mourinho was speaking to TNT Sports at Wembley after Madrid beat Borussia Dortmund 2-0 to lift their 15th European title.   The 2023 Labour Party, LP, presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has called for a thorough investigation into the killing of soldiers in Aba, Abia State, during the sit-at-home order. On Thursday, IPOB had declared sit-at-home to remember those killed during the Biafra civil war. During the sit-at-home, some unknown gunmen killed five soldiers in Aba, Abia State. The incident took place at the Obikabia Junction checkpoint, in Obingwa Local Government Area. Reacting, Obi described the killing of the soldiers as appalling and a dastard act.   Zambia's former First Lady Esther Lungu and her daughter Chiyeso Katete have been arrested over possession of properties suspected to be proceeds of crime. The two were arrested on Thursday in the capital, Lusaka, alongside another close relative identified as Charles Phiri, authorities said. Ms Lungu "failed to give a reasonable explanation" of how she acquired a $30,000 (£24,000) estate in the capital, the state anti-drug agency said. Former President Edgar Lungu said the family would challenge the charges in court.
